Veteran Owned and Operated Gulf Breeze, FL, company is seeking an experienced Generator Service Technician for the maintenance and service of standby, backup generators and related electrical equipment in the Florida panhandle region.

- Occasional overtime may be required. Weekend work may be required under exceptional circumstances (e.g., storm response).
Responsibilities :
- Maintenance, diagnosis and repair of standby, backup generators and other related electrical equipment. As well as essential duties and responsibilities including :
- Perform various types and levels of maintenance and repair on generators
- Troubleshooting and repair of Automatic Transfer Switches, to include bypass isolation, and closed transition types as well
- Repairs, preventative maintenance service (oil and filters), troubleshooting AC and DC circuits, removing and replacing components as necessary, performing warranty work per manufacturers guidelines, performing start-up / commissioning on new generators and generator systems
- Perform diesel or gas engine troubleshooting and repair to include but not limited to ignition components, injection systems, valve adjustments etc.
- Perform load bank testing on generator(s) to ensure units are in the proper operating conditions and meet applicable code requirements
- Assist other technicians with large multi-person jobs or troubleshooting complicated issues
Requirements :
- Small motor maintenance and troubleshooting experience, or mechanical degree / certification preferred
- Ability to read and follow technical bulletins, datasheets, and troubleshooting procedures
- Excellent communication skills and be able to give verbal / written reports of job status, repair recommendations, equipment / supplies needed
- Must possess a valid US driver’s license, and be able to drive a truck or van, with or without trailer
- Able to lift and carry parts up to 75 lbs, including tool boxes, electrical panels, and major components.
- Ability to work outdoors, while standing, bending over, or while using a ladder, in all weather conditions except lightning storm conditions.
- Ability to operate a company provided work pad used in the performance of installations, taking photos of installations, interfacing with customers
- Possess basic hand tools, with specialized tools provided by the company (payroll advance available)
