What are the responsibilities and job description for the Gas Pipefitter position at Generac Power Systems?
This opportunity is in with GBC Electric in Conover, NC. The Gas Pipefitter is a highly motivated individual that has experience necessary to perform the gas line installation connecting standby generators to the highest industry standards in homes and business throughout our target market.
We are a family owned and operate business that works with home standby and portable generators, transfer switches, and many other projects. We have served the Catawba, Iredell, and Surrounding North Carolina Counties for many years and are seeking a Gas Pipefitter to support continuing growth that we're experiencing.
What you’ll do
- Inspect and prepare sites for installation of generators and piping systems
- Measure, cut, thread, lubricate, assemble pipes according to requirements
- Detect and repair malfunctions, breakages, or leaks in accordance with safety guidelines
- Use and maintain tools and keep truck stocked and organized
- Collaborate with other crew members on installation team and office staff
- Run gas lines for Natural gas & LP systems ranging between ½” to 2” pipe (steel, PVC, and flex pipes)
- Generator delivery and trenching
What you’ll bring
- 3 years of experience within plumbing, HVAC, or pipefitting
- Residential, commercial, or generator experience is a plus
- Ability to read and comprehend technical documents and service manual
- Ability to lift up to 50lbs
- Valid driver’s license
