We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Controls Engineer to join our team at Generac, a leading energy technology company committed to powering a smarter world.

As a Controls Engineer, you will play a key role in the development, execution, and delivery of new control system projects, as well as maintaining existing equipment.
You will be responsible for designing and implementing automation controls systems, programming PLCs and HMIs, troubleshooting issues, and ensuring seamless start-ups.
In addition to your technical expertise, you will also contribute to the overall team performance by mentoring associates, providing technical assistance, and improving processes and standards.
Key Responsibilities:
- Design and implement automation controls systems
- Program PLCs and HMIs
- Troubleshoot issues and ensure seamless start-ups
- Mentor associates and provide technical assistance
- Improve processes and standards
Requirements:
- Bachelor of Science degree in Engineering
- 3 years of experience with programming Industrial controls, PLCs, HMIs, Industrial communication protocols
- 3 years of experience with PLC, HMI, Drives programming using Rockwell RSLogix/Studio 5000 and FTV view
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience with Fanuc Robot troubleshooting and support
- Experience with GE Proficy Suite – Machine Edition and Historian
- Experience working with and troubleshooting automation equipment in a high uptime environment
- Solid understanding of Ethernet IP communication configurations and troubleshooting
- Experience managing technical projects through a project cycle including initiating, planning, executing, monitoring, commissioning, and closing phases
