HPS is the leading installer of automatic home standby generators in Western and Central New York having installed over 5,000 home standby generators and has over 10,000 current service and preventive maintenance customers.
Home & Commercial Power Systems is looking to expand our generator installation team and are currently seeking Installation Technicians to install and replace residential automatic standby power generator systems.

- Previous Generac factory training is a plus; will provide training for qualified candidates
- Basic mechanical and pipe fitting experience is beneficial
- Experience working on gas engines or electrical wiring a plus
- Familiarity with tools and equipment
- Must be able to walk, bend, stoop, kneel & lift 70 lbs
- Must have a valid driver’s license, possess, and maintain a satisfactory driving record
- Installation of new or replacing generator according to specifications
- Light electrical/generator service calls
- Loading and transport of equipment
- Staging job materials for upcoming work
- Maintaining a clean and organized warehouse
- Adhere to NEC codes
- Inspect electrical components including wiring, panels, voltage, etc...
- Use testing devices to identify and report electrical problems
- Educate customers and provide excellent customer service
- Use hand and power tools
- Adhere to state and local building regulations
- Inspect, test, and start up systems to ensure proper functioning
- Perform all work in a manner that meets and follows codes and standards
- Complete required documentation of installations as per company policy and directive
- Ensure adequate inventory of necessary supplies and parts
- Calibrate equipment to provided specifications
- Adhere to all company policies and procedures
