We have an exciting opportunity for a Mid-Level Project Engineer to join our Air Force Special Operations Forces (AFSOC) Adaptive Airborne Enterprise (A2E) Project Engineering Team located in Poway, CA. This team specifically focuses on developing new hardware and software capabilities for AFSOC unmanned aircraft platforms.

DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Develop innovative but practical solutions to advanced technical problems in engineering.
• Provide Lead Project Engineering support from proposal development through contract award and execution.
• Support lab, ground, and flight test events as well as customer training events.
• Provide hands on support troubleshooting and problem solving in lab and flight test facility environments.
• Document findings and make technical presentations to engineering management, USAF Program Office and AFSOC Leadership.
• Direct activities of design or technical staff and may lead a team of moderately experienced professional staff.
• Maintains the strict confidentiality of sensitive information.
• Responsible for observing all laws, regulations, and other applicable obligations wherever and whenever business is conducted on behalf of the Company.
• Expected to work in a safe manner in accordance with established operating procedures and practices.

Job Qualifications

• Typically requires a bachelors degree, masters degree or PhD in engineering or a related technical discipline from an accredited institution and progressive engineering experience as follows; four or more years of experience with a bachelors degree, two or more years of experience with a masters degree. May substitute equivalent engineering experience in lieu of education.
• Demonstrates a complete understanding of engineering principles, concepts, theory, and practice with the ability to organize, plan, schedule, conduct, and coordinate workloads to meet established deadlines or milestones with some experience in project leadership.
• Must possess the ability to understand new concepts quickly and apply them accurately throughout an evolving environment.
• Strong communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills are required enabling an effective interface with other departments and/or professionals, and capable of representing the organization as a prime technical contact, as well as providing leadership and guidance to less experienced professionals.
• Customer focused, formulates plans based on the development of innovative new designs in resolving advanced technical engineering problems.
• Must be able to work both independently and in a team environment.
• Able to work additional hours as required.
• Ability to obtain and maintain a DoD security clearance is required.
  
  
  

Job Type: Full-Time Salary

Salary range: 81,080 - 141,650
