DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Manage day to day projects with a team of authors with a broad background of experiences
- Ensure a high level of initial quality of technical content of bulletins for diverse and complex technical issues
- Obtain and maintain technical system level knowledge of GA-ASI aircraft, ground control stations (GCS), and associated hardware, related operational procedures and maintenance processes in order to understand discrepancies and failures related to the products and generate appropriate corrective action.
- Provide technical direction and project guidance during issue troubleshooting and resolution development.
- Author technical documentation, memorandums and presentations to notify customers and operators of GA-ASI aircraft and GCS system failures and discrepancies.
- Collaborates with management and the customer to determine appropriate timelines, content, and format for the development of comprehensive engineering technical documents.
- Leads the identification, collection, and analysis of appropriate technical information and data. Reads, interprets and analyzes engineering source material such as engineering drawings, software documents, test plans, design specifications/documents, and interviews with technical experts.
- Interface with design engineers, field support engineers, program managers, maintainers, technical writers, and pilots to coordinate operational or maintenance related work-arounds, improved procedures, software updates, or hardware modifications as required in response to fielded incidents.
- Direct the activities of designers, technicians and may direct the activities of less experienced professional staff.
- Provide resource management and metrics to leadership as required to support future team growth.
- Represent the organization in providing solutions to technical issues associated with specific anomalies to GA-ASI’s customers.
- Leads technical documentation reviews and making customer related presentations as required.
- Maintains the strict confidentiality of sensitive information.
- Responsible for observing all laws, regulations and other applicable obligations wherever and whenever business is conducted on behalf of the Company.
- Expected to work in a safe manner in accordance with established operating practices and procedures.
- Other duties as assigned or required.

Job Qualifications:
- Typically requires education or formal training equivalent to the completion of a bachelor's degree and fourteen or more years of professional engineering/military technical experience and/or professional in-depth engineering/military documentation experience. In addition, must have four or more years of management/customer interface. Equivalent professional engineering/military technical experience or military operations and maintenance experience may be substituted in lieu of education/training.
- Must demonstrate a comprehensive and thorough understanding of the engineering/military principles underlying the technology, an excellent working knowledge of the engineering development process, and a thorough understanding of logistic support analysis, principles and procedures.
- Ability to work both independently and lead in a team environment is essential as is the ability to work extended hours and travel as required.
- Ability to obtain and maintain a DoD security clearance is required.
