We have an exciting opportunity in our Aerospace Engineering department for an Integration, Assembly, and Test Engineer. This full-time position will serve as the IA&T Engineer for missile, projectile, and other weapon systems. The successful candidate will provide technical support to a multi-disciplinary team (design engineering, manufacturing, test, and systems engineering) distributed between Huntsville, AL, Tupelo, MS, Centennial, CO, Fredericksburg, VA, and San Diego, CA. The successful candidate will provide technical support to a multi-disciplinary team (design engineering, manufacturing, test, and systems engineering) distributed between Huntsville, AL, Tupelo, MS, Centennial, CO, Fredericksburg, VA, and San Diego, CA. The IA&T Engineer will support the project team through all phases of the design, development, integration, assembly, and test of the various systems.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Develop and implement integration and assembly procedures and processes.
- Lead the integration and assembly of weapons systems including inspection, testing, evaluation, and reporting.
- Develop integration and assembly plans with appropriate traceability, and intuitively testable metrics along with a scope and method to evaluate the integrated systems.
- Lead integration and assembly activities by capturing requirements; providing clear verbal direction to team; capturing progress and configurations; recording anomalies; and reporting results.
- Manage integration and assembly anomaly processes from quality notification to verification of rework.
- Identify and integrate new technologies and processes to build quality into the various products.
- Estimate time required to conduct integration and assembly activities and complete assigned tasks within project schedule.
- Facilitate rapid resolution of integration and assembly delays and provide real-time, thorough communication with task leads, program management and other leadership, as required.
- Lead interactions with GA-EMS manufacturing operations team in support of transitioning products from research and development to production.
- Lead efforts to remain AS9100 Compliant through tool & equipment management
- Support technical interchanges for integration and test activities on major weapon system programs acting as the primary interface with manufacturing facilities, vendors, national test ranges, range safety offices, and other test related organizations.
- Support test readiness reviews, test event briefs, and post-test debriefs.
- Provide on-site test support during the execution of ground and flight tests.
- Provide technical support to design engineers to improve manufacturability.
- Collaborate daily with GA, customer engineering, and program management teams.
- Provided documentation and makes technical presentations, as required.
- Support development, review, and editing of technical documents including test plans, procedures, and reports; pretest briefings.

Job Qualifications
- Typically requires a bachelors degree, masters degree or PhD in engineering or a related technical discipline from an accredited institution and progressive engineering experience as follows; six or more years of experience with a bachelors degree, four or more years of experience with a masters degree, or two or more years with a PhD. May substitute equivalent engineering experience in lieu of education
- Demonstrates technical expertise and application of integration and assembly, manufacturing, engineering and configuration management principles, concepts, theory, and practice.
- Must possess the ability to contribute to the development of new concepts and principles; resolve unusually complex problems; and serve as spokesperson on integration and assembly activities.
- Strong communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills are required enabling effective leadership interface with other departments, all levels of management, professional and support staff, customers, potential customers, and government representatives.
- Customer focused, formulates plans based on the development of innovative new designs resolving advanced technical problems.
- Must be able to work on a self-initiated basis and in a team environment.
- Able to work extended hours as required.
- Demonstrated ability to develop ad hoc tests to troubleshoot anomalies.
- Demonstrated ability to independently lead a team with minimal supervision.
- Diverse integration and test engineering experience with a variety of electronic or mechanical systems as well as experience working in an agile and fast paced environment.
- Ability to multi-task, demonstrate strong initiative and work ethic, and work effectively with as a senior test engineer.
- Travel throughout the U.S. in support of testing is required.
- Must possess the ability to obtain a DOD Secret security clearance (or higher).
