In this capacity, the architect will lead the high-performance computing design in support of new air and ground-based designs. The Senior High Performance Computing Architect will report to the Manager of Hardware Engineering within the Radar Technologies group.

We are currently hiring a Senior High Performance Computing Architect who will be a key member within the GA-EMS Radar Technologies group. In this capacity, the architect will lead the high-performance computing design in support of new air and ground-based designs. The Senior High Performance Computing Architect will report to the Manager of Hardware Engineering within the Radar Technologies group.
DUTIES & RESPONSIBLITIES:
- Architect a high throughput, low latency performance computing architecture to enable real time signal and data processing of large data streams
- Network designer to architect and implement high-performance networking solutions integrating InfiniBand and Ethernet with Layer 2 switching. The ideal candidate will have deep expertise in designing low-latency, high-throughput network infrastructures optimized for high-performance computing (HPC), data-intensive applications
- Lead all performance computing analyses and trade studies including, but not limited to, bandwidth analysis, compute timelines, data rates, processing units (CPU, GPU, FPGA, hybrid), and cost
- Collaborate with algorithm developers to identify opportunities to parallelize and optimize algorithm design and implementation to achieve throughput and latency objectives
- Develop and maintain hardware requirements from high-level system performance specifications to include items such as switches, host computers, etc.
- Develop and maintain compute technical data package including network configuration
- Work with supply chain to source all required hardware components
- Set up, configure, evaluate, and troubleshoot the high-performance computing/network solution in the next higher assembly as required
- Collaborate with the Hardware, Software, and Systems engineering teams to drive product development
- Represent the company at technical reviews, meetings and formal design reviews
- Stay current with high performance computing industry innovations, developments and trends
Job Qualifications
- Typically requires a bachelors degree, masters degree or PhD in engineering or a related technical discipline from an accredited institution and progressive engineering experience as follows; fifteen or more years of experience with a bachelors degree, thirteen or more years of experience with a masters degree, or ten or more years with a PhD. May substitute equivalent engineering experience in lieu of education.
- Demonstrates a detailed and extensive technical expertise and application of engineering principles, concepts, theory, and practice with the ability to organize, plan, schedule, conduct, and coordinate workloads to meet established deadlines or milestones with some experience in project leadership
- Proven experience designing high throughput, low latency computing architectures
- Ability to lead cross-discipline teams in performing all required computing system designs, trades, and analyses
- Demonstrates a hands-on approach with hardware from initial setup through troubleshooting and final integration and test
- Must possess the ability to understand new concepts quickly and apply them accurately throughout a fast-paced, R&D environment
- Must have strong communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills to effectively interface with other departments, customers, government representatives, and/or professionals
- Must be customer focused and able to work on a self-initiated basis or in a team environment
- Ability to obtain and maintain a DoD security clearance required
- Prior experience designing high performance computing systems for digital beamforming radars
- Familiarity with HPC solutions from manufacturers such as Nvidia, AMD/Xilinx and Intel
- Familiarity with high bandwidth, low latency networks such as InfiniBand and RoCE
- Familiarity with high performance data storage solutions
- Experienced in Digital Signal Processing (DSP)
- Previous experience working with the Department of Defense
- Active security clearance
