General Building Maintenance Corp is looking for motivated individuals to join our professional cleaning team. Under the direction of the General Manager and Night Supervisor, this position is responsible for performing cleaning duties for a commercial building in the Wooster area . Quality customer service will be provided to the client at all times. Knowledge or willingness to learn proper cleaning techniques is essential.
SUMMARY Responsible for the cleanliness of the account. RESPONSIBILITIES AND DUTIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned.
Dust /damp mop floors in assigned areas. Cleans floor surfaces using applicable chemicals, equipment, and procedures. Performs routine, repetitive tasks on a continuous basis, accepting supervision from GBMC assigned Night Supervisor, General Manager or any designated GBMC employee. Responsible for the proper use, care, maintenance and storage of environmental services equipment, tools and materials used during the execution of his/her tasks. Conforms to all safety and fire regulations.Reports to General Manager. Ensures safe operation, prescribed care of machinery (maintaining equipment in good operable condition) and judicious use of all detergents, and other janitorial supplies.
EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE AND SKILLS REQUIRED:
No formal education required, only the ability to follow instructions and directions, High School Diploma or GED preferred. Must be able to read, write and speak English.Floor work experience desired but no necessary. Employee can be trained through in-service education.Must know how to use chemicals and supplies such as finishes, disinfectants, battery operated floor machines, cord burnish machines, mops, and other related items.Able to keep assigned areas in a condition complying with corporate standards.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS: While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to stand, use hands to finger, handle or feel objects, tools, or controls, and reach with hands and arms. The employee frequently is required to climb or balance. The employee is occasionally required to walk, sit, stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl, talk or hear. The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.
