Job Summary:
A Construction Laborer performs a variety of tasks on construction sites, contributing to the building, repair, and maintenance of the structure. This role will work closely with the Superintendent and Subcontractors on site. We are seeking individuals that are motivated to work in the construction field and grow in their role. Opportunities for advancement are available and encouraged. Must be flexible to travel throughout Orange County and Los Angeles, and be able to work different shifts as necessary.
Responsibilities:
- Site Preparation: Clearing debris, removing obstructions, and preparing the work area for construction activities.
- Material Handling: Loading and unloading construction materials, tools, and equipment, ensuring proper storage and organization.
- Assisting Skilled Tradespeople: Providing support to carpenters, plumbers, electricians, and other tradespeople, such as holding materials, setting up tools, or running errands.
- Operating Tools and Equipment: Safely operating power tools like saws, drills, and jackhammers, and potentially operating smaller construction equipment under supervision.
- Site Cleanup: Maintaining a clean and safe work environment, removing waste materials, and ensuring the job site is tidy.
- Following Instructions: Adhering to safety protocols and instructions from superintendent and following project plans.
- General Labor: Performing other physical tasks as assigned by Superintendent, which may vary depending on the specific project and location.
Qualifications:
- Experience: Previous experience as a construction worker or in a similar role.
- Skills: Proficiency with power tools and machinery, knowledge of basic construction tasks.
- Physical Condition: Good physical stamina and strength, ability to meet the physical demands of the job (standing for long periods, lifting heavy loads).
- Education: High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
- License: Valid driver's license.
