Role Description
This is a full-time on-site role for a Project Estimator at General Contracting Corp. located in Fairfield, NJ.
The Project Estimator will be responsible for cost management, construction estimating, communication, project estimation, and budgeting. Estimator will be responsible for executing the full bid process for a variety of commercial Projects including new construction, Interior / Exterior Renovations, remodeling and building additions.
5-10 Years’ Experience Preferred
Qualifications
- Define subcontractor trades required for bidding.
- Perform accurate quantity take-offs
- Ability to efficiently use Sage Estimating Software, MS Word / Excel, Emails, MS Project.
- Review / Interpret all information contained in construction documents to scopes of work for all trade
- Clarify / Identify document conflicts on bid documents and issue RFI’s.
- The ability to accurately understand the scope of project.
- Ability to read and thoroughly understand construction specifications
- Ability to read and thoroughly understand architectural, structural, mechanical, electrical, and civil blue prints.
- Ability to value engineer drawings
- Working with project administrators, create bidder lists, disburse plans, specifications and addendums to bidders.
- Correspond with Sub Contractors, Owners, Architects and Engineers.
- Prepare estimate using various programs including MS Excel, MS Word.
- Maintain proper files on each estimate.
- Drafting all proposal documents / Notes & Clarifications before bid deadline for final review.
