Temporary Contract Employee
The Horizon Texas Conference of The United Methodist Church announces a search for a Temporary Contract Employee at their Center for Multiplication and invites inquiries and resumes for the position. The Conferences seeks a detailed-oriented individual to provide high-level administrative support, ensuring the smooth and efficient operation of the Conference. This role will report to the Associate Director of Leadership and requires excellent organizational skills and is responsible for providing administrative support.
Primary Responsibilities:
- Send applicant invites to clergy and appointed laity via batch upload or the web portal
- Manage background check requirement compliance by continually monitoring and identifying those whose background checks are nearing expiration
- Email clergy who are nearing expiration (one month, one week, one day)
- Notify the BOM and Associate Director of Leadership when person’s compliance lapses
- Review background check reports and upload to Salesforce
- Initiate the process for flagged background checks when necessary with escalation to the Associate Director of Leadership
- Refer people with questions and concerns to Associate Director of Leadership or the Background Review Team
Qualifications
- High School Diploma (or equivalent) required.
- High level of proficiency with MS Office products including Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and video conferencing.
- Knowledge of grammar, spelling, and punctuation.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Ability to multi-task in a fast-paced environment.
- Ability to be self-directed and work alone at times.
- Ability to work effectively with staff, and other internal and external constituents of the UMC.
- Ability to maintain a calm, caring and professional demeanor.
- Ability to maintain the highest levels of confidentiality when receiving data, information, and correspondence.
