Lake Deaton United Methodist Church (LDUMC) announces their search for its next Worship Arts Director. The Worship Arts Director will direct, organize, recruit, and implement a comprehensive church music program, encompassing choirs, praise teams, vocal and instrumental ensembles, and other expressions of worship. The person in this role will report to the Senior Pastor and will be expected to provide general guidance, encouragement, assistance, influence, coaching, recommendations, and coordination for all music programming, volunteers, and staff at Lake Deaton UMC. They will work closely with the pastoral team to create meaningful and engaging worship experiences that inspire and uplift the congregation. A key focus of this position will be to cultivate and mentor musicians, coordinate audio-visual and creative arts elements, and oversee the technical aspects of worship services. The Worship Arts Director will collaborate with volunteers, staff, and external musical groups to enhance the worship life of LDUMC and connect with the wider community through special events and performances.

Primary Duties:

• Select and plan spiritually uplifting music for weekly blended and traditional services at LDUMC.
• Participate in the creative planning of any special services with the Worship Design Team.
• Produce and direct special events, musicals, and programs (including all Easter/Christmas/Holy Services).
• Recruit, equip, motivate, supervise, and shepherd music team leaders and musicians.
• Oversee the inventory of the music library, materials, supplies and musical instruments.
• Responsible for the care and maintenance of all musical instruments and related items.
• Responsible for overseeing and preparing a budget for Music Ministry in conjunction with Senior Pastor.
• Lead congregational singing with worship team or alone.
• Oversee and supervise all technical, multi-media, sound, and lighting personnel and volunteers.
• Work closely with other worship team components: ushers, communion stewards, greeters, audio, and visual team members.
• Maintain a consistent program of self-improvement and keep informed on current music methods, materials, promotional ideas, administrative techniques and trainings within the Florida United Methodist Conference.

Qualifications

Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree in music or theology (Masters preferred).
• Minimum 5 years’ experience in church related setting (preferred).
• Experience with technical aspects of a blended service, such as: sound boards, theater lights, video editing, live feed, etc.
• Attested quality musical skills and competence.
• Ability to organize, coordinate, and motivate musicians and technical team members
• Commitment to and readiness to share in fulfilling the vision and mission of LDUMC
• Consistently interact with staff, congregants, and public with warmth and hospitality
• Able and willing to work with a servant attitude and a cooperative team spirit
• Demonstrates strong leadership skills and excellent long-range planning skills
• Exhibits strong communication skills
• Dependable, responsible, self-motivated, high-energy, and creative

Worship Service Times

• Saturday at 5 PM (Contemporary)
• Sunday at 9 AM (Contemporary) & 10:45 AM (Traditional)

Salary & Benefits

• Salary Range: $60,000-$65,000
• Health Stipend included
• 401(k) contributions are matched up to 3%. 
• Dental and vision insurance available.
