We're seeking highly motivated individuals who are looking for a challenging but rewarding opportunity in supporting the US Navy Ships in the Fleet as a Government Contractor. The Support Services Supply Chain group is looking for a Material Coordinator Supply Chain Specialist to oversee the entire end-to-end view to ensure we effectively deliver material to Ships in the Fleet. Additional responsibilities include;
Material Coordinator II
The Material Coordinator II will perform tasks under the direction of a supervisor and with guidance from mentors as they develop the skills necessary to provide well rounded support within Supply Chain, for all of BIW, primarily driven by Manufacturing, Program Office, and Supply Chain partners. Support will primarily be centered around material availability and production IPT support.
Material Coordinator III
The Material Coordinator III will perform tasks with some guidance from a supervisor and mentors, providing support within Supply Chain, for all of BIW, primarily driven by Manufacturing, Program Office, and Supply Chain partners. Support will primarily be centered around material availability and production IPT support.
This is a hybrid role.
Required/Preferred Education/Training
Material Coordinator II
- 2 – 4 years’ experience in performing analytics.
- B/S or B/A degree preferably in Business, Finance, or Supply Chain, or a related degree preferred and comparable work experience.
- Works independently with some supervision.
- Willingness to learn new things and think innovatively to identify inefficiencies within the process while collaborating with leader on how to mitigate the inefficiency.
Material Coordinator III
- 4 – 6 years’ experience in performing analytics.
- B/S or B/A degree in Business, Finance or Supply Chain preferred but not required and comparable work experience.
- Works independently with minimum supervision.
- Willingness to learn new things and think innovatively to both identify inefficiencies and recommend solutions.
Required/Preferred Experience
- Intermediate skills in; Microsoft Office Products, Developing Skills in JIRA workflows, SAP business models, enterprise and material resource planning systems (BMCS, MACPAC and WLOC).
- Strong communication skills.
- Developing understanding of the various phase of acquisition and inventory management.
- Strong Time Management Skills requiring you to manage various priorities in a given day / week effectively.
- Advanced skills in Microsoft Office products: MS Project, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook; knowledge of SharePoint, and JIRA.
- Basic understanding of the various phases of acquisition management and basic understanding of inventory management.
- Attitude and aptitude to lead without authority.
- Ability to articulate both verbally and in writing procurement summaries and any issues associated with the procurement activity.
- Ability to solve complex problems and schedule issues as well as adapts to schedule changes.
- Ability to collaborate with internal / external customers and suppliers to resolve problems.
- Ability to build relationships and work effectively with other departments in the organization in a cross functional manner and with external resources.
- Manages shipments and resolves all quality discrepancies with manager / mentor support.
- Interacts with management and / or mentor to resolve issues as well as adapts to schedule changes.
