Section Manager, Material Control

The successful candidate will oversee the daily operations of BIW’s Consolidated Warehouse (200K SF). Warehouse operation responsibilities include managing incoming/outgoing freight, receipt, storage, transfer, and distribution of all material in the inventory system whether purchased material or fabricated components. The successful candidate will directly work with multiple organizations on a daily basis to ensure timely delivery and disposition of material while maintaining high levels of inventory accuracy.

Responsibilities Include

• Ensure that all safety procedures, policies and regulations are being followed.
• Oversee the supervisory team, material handlers, planning technicians and the daily operations on the floor of the warehouse.
• Contribute to maintaining a high level of inventory accuracy.
• Communicate with our counterparts in Operations, Planning and Procurement to ensure that material is being received and delivered on time and on budget.
• Manage and monitor all necessary reports and metrics to ensure that the team is meeting their goals.
• Maintain a clean and organized warehouse by ensuring that the team is compliant with housekeeping standards.
• High School Diploma required.
• Associate’s or Bachelor’s Degree in Supply Chain or Manufacturing Management preferred.
• Minimum 5 Years BIW or Industry experience required.
• Minimum 3 years Material Control experience required.
• Minimum 3 years demonstrated leadership roles (e.g., Front Line Supervisor), especially in Material Control and Processes strongly recommended.

• Demonstrated proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite tools such as Word, Excel and PowerPoint (Microsoft Office suite).
