Job Description
This candidate will have responsibility and cognizance of BIW's electrical infrastructure at multiple facilities and provide technical support, planning, design, monitoring, maintenance-strategy, and repair-support of the plant electrical power distribution systems to ensure its reliability for both current and future needs. This position will work on the Facilities Department’s Engineering Team charged with providing technical support and guidance to Electricians and Mechanics in the field. In this role, the candidate will be involved in capital improvement project scope development, Developing Maintenance Strategy for new / installed systems, and liaison with vendors and CMP for technical support. This position will review designs for new substations; upgrades to existing substations; switchgear and other electrical equipment layout and specification(s); power distribution; lighting; and grounding. This position will serve as the primary resource for technicians in the field performing troubleshooting and repair of our infrastructure’s power distribution systems.
Required / Preferred Education / Training
- BS in Electrical Engineering required. Experience in Electrical Power Distribution strongly preferred.
- Licensed Professional Engineer preferred, other Certificates or Licenses are a plus.
