What are the responsibilities and job description for the Electrical Draftsman position at General Dynamics Electric Boat?
Overview
There is presently a great need for a highly-motivated Electrical Draftsman with the ability to produce design deliverables from design sketches, layouts and/or concepts to support manufacture, assembly and test. We are looking for a candidate with the desire to develop skills through on-the-job experience and continued education to advance in the design profession.
Qualifications
Required:
- High School diploma or GED
- 3-5 years relevant work experience
- Knowledge of Microsoft products
- Familiarity with design practices/rules and CAD tools
- Ability to perform design related math functions
- Ability to read and interpret written instructions and drawings (blueprints)
- Demonstrated proficiency in drafting (portfolio) with Computer Aided Design (CAD)
Preferred:
- Degree from a Technical School/College
- Successfully completed the CT Department of Labor Eastern Workforce Investment Board Training Program (www.ewib.org)
- Familiarity with Electrical Design Systems, Cableways and Components
- Familiarity with Design Standards, Military Specifications, Manufacturing Processes, Design for Six Sigma, Lean Design/Manufacturing
- Demonstrated proficiency in drafting (portfolio) with Autocad/CATIA/NX
