What are the responsibilities and job description for the Embedded Software Engineer – Ship Control position at General Dynamics Electric Boat?
Overview
Engineers of various experience levels supporting a multidisciplinary team designing, building, and maintaining the ship control systems for the safe operation of US submarines. We seek highly motivated candidates across multiple engineering disciplines including systems engineering, electronics hardware engineering and software engineering. Candidates will either support simulation system development or software test to support verification and validation of complex integrated electronics systems.
Responsibilities may include but are not limited to:
- Software development and peer reviews
- Test plan development, unit test, code coverage testing
- Software/ hardware integration and formal verification
- Support ongoing system and component development, with a strong focus on establishing, understanding, and meeting requirements
- Systems analysis and modeling
- Test plan development, test execution, and analysis
Qualifications
Required:
- Bachelor of Science degree or higher in Software Engineering, Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Systems Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or Bachelor of Science in an equivalent technical related field.
Preferred:
- Diagnostics and troubleshooting of electronics systems
- Computer software development (Ada, C, C , Java, etc.)
- Real-time embedded system development
- Distributed control systems
- Control systems analysis and modeling
- MATLab & Simulink
- Engineering and requirements management tools (DOORS, etc.)
