Responsibilities of this position include:
This Supervisory position is responsible for technical leadership and cost/schedule management of the group's tasks. These tasks focus on VIRGINIA Class and COLUMBIA Class NPES physical baseline integration for New Construction and Modernization changes. This position involves working collaboratively with a broad customer base of government program office, participating managers (PARMs) and NUWC personnel.
Responsibilities of this position include:
- Developing the group’s technical and business knowledge in order to support EB strategic initiatives, including but not limited to defining individualized development plans aimed at accelerating employee competency development.
- Establish and communicate high quality work expectations and drive accountability.
- Prioritizing resources to ensure the needs of both internal and external customers are met.
- Leading development/review of C5I Platform Interface Baseline for all GFE & CFE systems, Trade Studies and Interface Control Documents; managing the receipt/review of C5I System technical data.
- Along with SHAPM representatives, leading Class Platform Integration Teams and managing the activities of associated working groups.
Candidates must have strong verbal and written communication and interpersonal skills to interface with both internal and external customers, and provide effective direction for the activities of a diverse group of salaried personnel.
Qualifications:
Required:
- Bachelor of Science degree in Electrical or Industrial Engineering or other related Bachelor of Science technical degree
- 7 years of Submarine Project Management and Engineering experience
- An in-depth knowledge of Submarine NPES/Combat Weapons Systems
- A working knowledge of Earned Value Management System (EVMS), ARTEMIS, Manpower Plan and Contracts
- Able to obtain and maintain a Secret Security clearance
Preferred:
- Previous supervisory experience
- A demonstrated rapport with applicable Navy technical and program personnel
- Knowledge of CATIA, NX, JCALS, MRPII
- Knowledge of “downstream” processes for consumers of engineering products
- Knowledge of ship alteration processes and construction change management
- Excellent verbal communication skills
- Strong writing ability
- Ability to work in a collaborative team environment
