Pipecoverers (Laggers) work with fiberglass, calcium silicate, PVC Nitrile rubber, barium sulfate, and all standard lagging coverings and provide anti-sweat, personnel protection, thermal and acoustic insulation treatments on all piping systems and major shipboard components as required by plan- Uses chicken wire and high temperature cement to provide a hard covering on some insulation materials and sews various coverings on other treatments
- Able to interpret drawings and insulation schedules as necessary to complete assigned work
- Work conditions may include entry into restricted and confined spaces
- Ability to interpret technical manuals, shipyard procedures, test documents, blueprints, diagrams, and perform basic layout functions
- Must be willing to work road assignments and work in Radiological areas of the boat
- Must be able to work all shifts
- Must be available to work overtime assignments as required
- Will be required to possess your own basic hand tools
- Must be able to obtain and maintain as US Dept. of Defense SECRET Clearance

Required:
- 0-5 years of relevant experience
Preferred:
- High School Diploma or GED
- Additional preference given for Vocational, Technical and Community Colleges or Apprentice programs. Military Shipbuilding, manufacturing, or shipyard experience
