This position is for a Maintenance Technician . Technician will be responsible to perform both mechanical and electrical/electronic inspections and repairs on various production equipment, machinery and panels across the facility. Experience desired in as many of the following as possible: analog and digital AC and DC drive controllers, solid state circuitry components and programmable logic controlling, motors, generators, alternators, resister banks, oil and vibration analysis equipment, HVAC equipment, etc.
In addition to but not limited to may be asked to perform industrial gas readings, facility freeze protection rounds and assist in facility snow removal. This is a fast paced, procedure driven position that always puts safety first.
Qualifications
Required:
HS Diploma or Ged OR 2 or more years of related technical experience.
- One year of maintenance experience or trade school/votech in either electrical, mechanical or hydraulics
- Must be able to work all shifts, overtime, weekends
- Must be able to work at heights, in confined spaces and extreme temperature
- conditions as required
- Must be able to interpret technical manuals, shipyard procedures, test documents, drawings and diagrams
- Must possess a valid driver’s license
- Must be able to qualify to operate man-lifts, scissor lifts, forklifts and bobcats
- Individuals are required to possess their own basic hand tools
Preferred:
- Military/ Navy experience
- Vocational, Technical and Community Colleges or Apprentice programs
Skills
- Applicant will be required to work in a collaborative and team enviornment and meet organizational goals
- Computer skills with Microsoft office and the ability to adopt to new programs
