Sheetmetal Mechanic Responsibilities:
- Interpret construction drawings with basic mathematic ability
- Complete work assignments using company drawings, test documents, technical manuals, shipyard procedures and shop machinery
- The layout, fabrication, assembly, and installation of all light gage metalwork which includes air-conditioned ductwork, lockers, cabinets, prefabricated bulkheads, doors, furniture and formica
- Performing joiner work, fabricate nonstructural bulkhead doors and stainless steel trim
- Work conditions may include entry in restricted/confined spaces
This position is located at the Quonset Point facility in North Kingstown, RI.
Qualifications
Required:
- High school diploma or equivalent or 2 plus years of related technical experience
- Minimum of 1 year of related Sheetmetal experience or relevant formal training
- Available to work all shifts
- Ability to work at heights, confined spaces and extreme temperature conditions as required
- Individuals are required to possess their own basic hand tools
Preferred:
- Sheetmetal/metal fabrication experience and/or sheetmetal training
- Experience working in the construction industry or a manufacturing environment
- Vocational, Technical and Community Colleges or Apprentice programs
- Military/Navy experience
- Automotive/auto body or HVAC experience
