HOW YOU WILL MAKE AN IMPACT
- Responsible for designing, planning, implementing, and administering databases, including security, access, and documentation
- Maintain and support of existing and future databases in all designated NNSA enclaves. This includes responsibility for managing data, namely dataset placement, database performance, and data recovery and integrity at a physical level.
- Designs and builds relational databases. Performs data access analysis design, and archive / recovery design and implementation.
- Develops strategies for data acquisitions, archive recovery, and implementation of a database.
- Responsibility for managing data, namely dataset placement, database performance, and data recovery and integrity at a physical level.
- Works in a data warehouse environment, which includes data design, database architecture, and metadata repository creation.
- Develops data warehousing blueprints, evaluating hardware and software platforms, and integrating systems.
- Reviews and develops object and data models and the metadata repository to structure the data for better management and quicker access.
- Provides expert knowledge for the design, development, build, analysis, evaluation, installation and administration of database management systems to include database modeling and design, relational database architecture, non-relational database architecture and procedures, metadata and repository creation and configuration management
- Designs and implements databases with respect to access methods, access time, batch processes, device allocation, validation checks, organization, ETL tasks, protection and security, documentation, and statistical methods
- Prepares system requirements, source analysis and process analyses and design throughout the database implementation
- Defines database organizations, standards, controls, procedures, and documentation
- Database performance tuning, optimization, indexing, and implementation of industry and agency best practices.
- Applying agency data and security standards and developing comprehensive data dictionaries.
