Responsibilities
As a Manager, Federal and State Tax, supporting the corporate headquarters of a global, Fortune 100 Aerospace and Defense contractor, you will work closely with senior leadership and contribute to a broad array of projects in a dynamic, team-oriented tax group. You will grow in depth and breadth as a tax practitioner as you contribute to tax compliance, provision, and planning projects that impact our 10 business units.
Responsibilities
- Coordinate federal and state compliance processes by using financial systems and other technology tools to compile, transform, and analyze data.
- Assess current tax processes and assist development of improvements, especially through automation.
- Support Senior Manager, Tax, in review and filing of federal, state, and local income tax filings, data analysis, and audit activity.
- Support technology projects (i.e., automation, ERP system updates) from a tax perspective.
- Develop models to measure tax impact of legislative proposals and other scenarios.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
Education
- Bachelor’s degree preferably in Accounting, Tax, or Finance.
Experience
- Six-plus years of tax experience in an accounting firm or industry.
- CPA strongly preferred.
Other Job Specifications
- Facility in a broad range of tax and accounting systems; Corptax experience is especially helpful.
- Experience supporting income tax return processes for large, complex corporate taxpayers.
- Proficiency in Alteryx strongly preferred.
- Demonstrated aptitude for technology and process improvements.
- Strong analytical, organizational, interpersonal skills, keen attention to detail.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills and the ability to deal effectively with colleagues at all levels of the organization.
- Ability to function independently and wear many hats in fast-paced, collaborative tax department supporting Fortune 100 multinational.
- Proficiency in MS Office suite, particularly Excel and Word.
- Must be fully COVID-19 vaccinated by start date, unless medical or religious exceptions apply.
- Be willing to work in the CHQ office Monday through Friday during regular business hours.
