Overview :
This position serves as the primary point of contact between the company and our members, and provides guidance and support to ensure timely, accurate, and efficient claim processing. The successful candidate leads the team in resolving claims, establishing and enforcing policies and procedures, and ensuring compliance with all applicable laws and regulations. Responsibilities include training, coaching, addressing member complaints and third-party complaints. Assist with hiring and writing personal appraisals. Working with the Loan Servicing Manger to hold the Claims team, to the industry standards and, produce monthly reporting on claim statuses
Essential Responsibilities :
- Oversee and track outstanding loss claims, proactively addressing any issues to maintain operational efficiency and client satisfaction
- Provide periodic reports to senior management
- Lead training sessions to update the claims team on any changes to policies or procedures, ensuring that all staff are informed and compliant.
- Hire, train, write team member reviews and have difficult team member conversations
- Ensure compliance with internal strategies, policies, procedures and knowledge and identify skill or procedural gaps detrimental to the Credit Union operation
- Identifies training needs and content to address skill gaps
- Conducts regular reviews of pending and closed files to determine whether claims are processed appropriately
- Work with the Loan Servicing / Collection teams on member claims
- Work with the Loan Servicing Manager to develop and implement programs that ensure highest level of quality as the department scales to meet the growing claims activity
- Auditing the claim loss process
- Partner with and assist other departments within the credit union
