Compliance Analyst

Overview:
The Compliance Analyst will assist the Compliance team in administrating the Credit Union’s overall compliance program, ensuring compliance with the rules and regulations and internal policies and procedures.
Essential Responsibilities:
- Perform daily, weekly, and monthly monitoring and provide results to the Lines of Business for coaching and improvement opportunities
- Maintain responsibility for all facets of the Bank Secrecy Act (BSA), Anti-Money Laundering efforts, USA PATRIOT Act, and OFAC
- Manage Anti-Money Laundering software, file Suspicious Activity Reports (SAR) and Currency Transaction Reports (CTR) as necessary
- Review advertising pieces from the Marketing Department for compliance as needed
- Communicate with other lines of business to develop, maintain and/or update various policies, procedures, and manuals of the Credit Union
- Read, analyze, and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, or governmental regulations
- Routinely attend educational events and/or training to stay well-informed of Compliance and Regulatory updates and changes
- Research laws and regulations pertinent to General Electric Credit Union
- Communicate with departments to help keep them abreast of any relevant regulatory or legal changes
- Offer Compliance team suggestions of innovative approaches to problem solving while continuing to prioritize urgent issues
- Audit and analyze systems and processes to ensure compliance with internal and external standards
- Assist in the Credit Union’s Vendor Management Program
- Contributes to team effort by accomplishing other tasks as needed
Education and Experience:
- High School diploma or GED required; Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Business Administration or related field preferred
- 2-4 years of experience in legal, compliance, audit or banking/credit union compliance laws and regulations required
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
- Maintain excellent verbal communication skills
- Strong written communication skills to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals
- Proficient computer skills with the ability to use Microsoft Office Suite and the internet for legal research purposes
- Acute attention to detail with strong analytical and organizational skills
- Good interpersonal skills to collaborate effectively with other lines of business in the Credit Union to help maintain a compliant environment
- Must understand and comply with all federal and state regulations associated with this position
