As a Process Improvement Technician, you will participate in Process Improvement activities including but not limited to automation installations though-out the plant. In addition to providing robotic assistance to maintenance and production on advanced robotic issues. Deliver projects that result in savings in Assembly Yield, Reduced Downtime, VLOH, First Pass yield and others as assigned. This role reports directly PIE leader. Position will be required to interact with work teams, process leadership and design engineering as required. Position Process Improvement Technician Location USA, LaFayette, GA How You'll Create Possibilities Essential Job Functions Drive safety as the core of all actions. Be knowledgeable in automation/robotics and drive projects into the assembly areas. Provide direct support on projects working with vendors and ensuring corporate standards are followed during project installations. Assist maintenance and or production on daily issues related to robotics and or vision systems. Provide layer of troubleshooting that has direct access to AME engineers to help resolve issues. Expected to be able to participate in multi-projects at the same time. Ensure following all LOTO procedures and safety protocols. Evaluate jobs and equipment interactions for safety, quality, downtime reduction and potential productivity opportunities. Be willing to challenge conventional thinking. Robotics and automation in assigned areas to be a responder. Drive Problem Solving to the Business Leader, Area Leader, Team Leader and operator level. Evaluate and understand Equipment downtime and tracking through the Proficy Reports and HrxHR boards in assembly. Develop and implement projects through the Change Implementation Board process, including IP reviews and status updates to the business. Flexible schedule, may request to work different shifts as needed. RELATED RESPONSIBILITIES AND DUTIES: Assist on NPI efforts in trial support of new technologies related to product development. Work to develop new procedures and introduce new products. Work on special projects as assigned. What You'll Bring to Our Team EDUCATION: Required: High school diploma or G.E.D. Computer Skills (Word, Excel, Outlook, Power Point, etc.) Preferred: Certificate in Robotic programming and /or maintenance. B.S or Associates in a business or technical degree. If candidate does not have, will be required in Level 1 of PI Tech role. Knowledgeable in application of APS guiding principles. Excellent Attendance (below 2 occurrences), Experience in Problem Solving. ACAD. experience. EXPERIENCE: Preferred: Maintenance position or equivalent maintenance level experience. Automation/Robotics experience, Ability to read and following electrical and or mechanical schematics. Willingness to travel for training. Ability to assemble mechanical and electronic components. SKILLS/ABILITIES: Must possess the ability to read, write and perform basic mathematical functions at the high school level. The employee is required to stand, walk, sit, push, pull, reach overhead, climb and bend to the floor. The employee will exert 20 to 50 pounds of force occasionally and/or exert 10 to 25 pounds of force frequently and/or exert up to 10 pounds of force constantly to move objects. The employee must possess basic mechanical ability. Interpersonal Skills, Leadership, Organizational Skills, Problem Solving Skills, Strong Communication Skills, Self-Motivation, Lean Tools. Employee must have the ability to work on his/her own with no direct, constant supervision. The employee must be comfortable performing the essential job functions and feel comfortable being held accountable for their completion. The employee must be self-motivating and willing to take control. EQUIPMENT/JOB TOOLS: Ability to use learn basic robotic programming and trouble shooting. Ability to use Microsoft Excel and Outlook, Lean Tools, 1x1 Problem Solving, Time Study mechanics. WORKING CONDITIONS: The employee is subject to high noise levels from operating machines, physical hazards from moving equipment and machine parts, breathing fumes, dust and mist. The employee is subject to skin exposure to oils and metal forming lubricants, both petroleum and water based.
