ABC News Studios is a non-fiction studio within ABC News charged with producing premium narrative non-fiction, documentaries, and news specials for Hulu, ABC Network, Disney and National Geographic.
Responsibilities :
We are seeking a Field Producer who will collaborate with Senior Producers, Producers and APs to develop and produce programs for the portfolio. The ideal candidate is a creative with interest in news and pop culture and a passion for documentary-style story telling. This person will have experience supporting shoots in the field and significant experience researching and developing stories. The candidate should be an excellent communicator with ability to oversee and mentor more junior staff and to manage up to more senior creative execs.
The candidate should have excellent organizational skills and extensive media management experience and be able to organize and manage a high volume of footage. The person should also have experience working closely with rights and clearances groups, legal teams and archive and should be familiar with news editorial standards.
The role includes, but is not limited to, setting up and managing field shoots, gathering and organizing elements for edit, booking guests, supporting editors with media, and writing. Assisting the story development process through the formulating of show treatments and decks is also expected while work is underway on the project of primary focus. Management of archival and field elements at mass scale is important.

Basic Qualifications :
- Minimum 3 years professional experience producing longform non-fiction content
- Experience with large scale production in news or documentary.
- Strong communication, organization skills, attention to detail is essential.
- Strong editorial judgment.
- Experience with reporting, research and booking
- Minimum one year experience producing in the field including conducting interviews
- Understanding of production technologies in both pre- and post- production
- Knowledge of various camera types
- Experience with AVID editing systems
- Innovate new ways of telling stories
- Easily multitasks and adapts quickly to changing priorities
- Knowledge of archival and digital resources
Required Education :
- BA or BS from a 4 year accredited college or university or equivalent experience
