Job Description
Perform the liquid painting of company parts and equipment using Air Assist, HVLP and cup paint guns.
Maintain efficient production flow through the department.
Packaging finished product as required.
Maintain finishing materials and inventories according to proper storage requirements per OSHA and local standards and/or regulations.
Prepare completed products and sub-assemblies for applying finishes by cleaning surfaces to include masking as needed.
Use finish application equipment to apply finishes that meet company’s expectations and recognized industry standards.
Operate and maintain finishing equipment with the ability to detect defects or deviations from standards and make appropriate adjustments as necessary.
Manually hang finished completed products and sub-assemblies to storage lines as required to maintain flow requirements.
Manually remove finished completed products and sub-assemblies from storage lines as required to maintain flow requirements.
Manually transfer finished completed products and sub-assemblies from work area to drying or storage areas.
Clean finishing equipment as required to extend service life and to apply finishes that meet company expectations and recognized industry standards.
Maintain work areas with proper housekeeping practices in accordance with company expectations while meeting OSHA and local standards and/or regulations.
Apply stencils, computer-generated decals, or other decorative items to finished products.
Maintains an awareness of the means by which process improvements can be achieved and makes related recommendations to company management.
Interpret blueprints, engineering drawings, bill of materials, and specifications regarding product finishing requirements.
Interpret finish materials and solvents Safety Data Sheets (SDS) to be able to properly inventory, handle and dispose of finish materials and solvents according to applicable OSHA and local standards and/or regulations.
Maintain finishing equipment in the work area in a safe, clean condition and in operable working order.
Replace booth/work area filter media at appropriate intervals and dispose of in accordance to OSHA and local standards and/or regulations.
Assist supervisor, as required, in the orientation and training of other employees.
