In this internship, you will have the opportunity to develop, participate and learn key roles and functions within the construction management field. Our interns assist with activities related to field operations under the guidance of superintendents and foremen, specializing in underground site utilities and heavy civil construction projects. The ideal candidate would be looking for a hands-on experience and be self-motivated to learn construction methods and practices related to field operations.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES :
- Gain understanding and knowledge of construction management processes and procedures through hands-on experience and on-the-job training.
- Build on knowledge of materials, methods, and the tools and equipment involved in underground and heavy civil construction.
- Learn how to effectively and efficiently schedule and manage all construction site activities.
- Work closely with superintendents and foremen to assist with planning procedures for construction, according to project specifications.
- Support field superintendents and project management team with subcontractor and / or supplier coordination, material tracking, time management, and accurate material takeoffs.
- Study project plans and specifications to understand, schedule and perform construction activities with the highest quality standard practices.
- Acquire knowledge and skills related to heavy equipment utilization and trucking capabilities in onsite operations.
- Understand and participate in environmental, health & safety responsibilities, by following policies, procedures & trainings.
- Other various duties as assigned.

QUALIFICATIONS
Must be pursuing a degree in Construction Management or related field.
Must have a valid Driver's License
LANGUAGE SKILLS
Ability to read, analyze, and comprehend professional journals, technical procedures and governmental regulations. Ability to write reports and business correspondence. Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations to customers, clients, and other employees of the organization.
COMPUTER SKILLS
Working knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel and PowerPoint. Basic knowledge of computers and / or tablet devices.
REASONING ABILITY
Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions. Ability to interpret an extensive variety of technical instructions in mathematical or diagram form and deal with several abstract and concrete variables.
CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS
Applicant must be actively pursuing a degree in Construction Management, Civil Engineering or other related field from an accredited program. Valid driver's license.
