ROLE AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Reporting to the Director of Engineering, the Facilities Manager plays a pivotal role within the organization, ensuring that all operational equipment and facilities are functioning efficiently and safely. This position is critical as it directly impacts the productivity and quality of services delivered by the organization. The Facilities Manager is responsible for developing maintenance procedures, managing maintenance budgets, and leading a team of maintenance professionals to achieve operational excellence.
THE FACILITIES MANAGER SERVES THE ORGANIZATION IN 3 KEY AREAS:
- Developing and implementing maintenance strategies and procedures that minimize equipment downtime and operational disruptions
- Supervising and managing the maintenance team to ensure that all maintenance activities are performed efficiently and in compliance with safety standards
- Managing maintenance-related budgets, ensuring cost efficiency while maintaining high standards of equipment and facility upkeep
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Planning and scheduling preventive and corrective maintenance work
- Conducting regular inspections and audits of facilities and equipment to identify areas for improvement and compliance with health and safety regulations
- Ensuring that all maintenance work is documented according to internal and external requirements
- Monitoring the inventory of spare parts and maintenance supplies, planning re-orders to avoid delays in maintenance activities
- Training and developing maintenance staff to enhance their skill sets and efficiency
- Responding promptly to emergency situations involving equipment breakdowns, mitigating potential hazards or interruptions
- Implementing energy-saving measures and sustainability practices in maintenance operations
- Implementing continuous improvement initiatives that enhance maintenance procedures and reduce costs
- Liaising with external contractors and suppliers to acquire high-quality services and materials for maintenance projects.
- Work Office is in a factory with a temperature-controlled environment
- Some duties are performed in a loud and uncontrolled environment (production setting) subject to extreme temperatures.
QUALIFICATIONS AND EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS:
- Bachelor’s Degree in a Technical Field is preferred
- Relevant certifications such as a Certified Maintenance and Reliability Professional (CMRP) or Certified Plant Engineer (CPE) are highly advantageous
- Extensive experience in maintenance, including a minimum of five years in a managerial role, preferably in the Manufacturing industry
- Proven track record of successfully managing budgets, teams, and large-scale maintenance projects
- Strong understanding of compliance and safety regulations pertinent to the industry
- The Facilities Manager must also demonstrate excellent leadership, problem-solving, and communication skills to effectually guide the maintenance team and collaborate with other department leaders.
- Ability to manage multiple projects successfully.
- Strong communication skills.
- Technical competence, analytical skills in data analysis & MS Office applications.
- Mechanically inclined
- A self- starter, ability to work with limited supervision
- Ability to work in a team environment.
SCHEDULE:
- Day Shift
- 8 Hours
- Unpaid Lunch Break
- Work schedule is typical Monday - Friday with weekend availability to ensure preventative maintenance, projects, and vendors are meeting schedules
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $80,000.00 - $90,000.00 per year
