The Plant Manager will oversee all aspects of operations within General Flange and Forge, ensuring that production goals are met while maintaining high standards of quality and safety. This role requires extensive experience in CNC machining processes, as well as strong leadership skills to manage a diverse team effectively.
Essential Responsibilities:
· Direct and coordinate daily operations of the plant to ensure efficient production processes.
· Develop and implement operational strategies that align with company objectives and improve overall performance.
· Oversee the setup, operation, and maintenance of CNC machines used in flange production.
· Ensure that CNC programming is optimized for efficiency and precision, working closely with engineering teams to troubleshoot any issues.
· Establish and maintain quality assurance protocols to ensure products meet industry standards and customer specifications.
· Implement continuous improvement initiatives based on performance metrics and feedback from quality inspections.
· Manage hiring, training, performance evaluations, and development of plant staff.
· Foster a positive work environment that encourages teamwork, accountability, and professional growth.
· Develop annual budgets for the plant operations; monitor expenditures to ensure adherence to budgetary constraints.
· Identify cost-saving opportunities through process improvements or equipment upgrades without compromising quality.
· Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations; promote a culture of safety within the workplace.
· Conduct regular safety audits and training sessions for all employees.
· Work closely with sales, engineering, and supply chain teams to forecast demand accurately and plan production schedules accordingly.
· Collaborate on new product development initiatives by providing insights on manufacturability from a machining perspective.
· Oversee inventory levels of raw materials and finished goods; ensure timely procurement to prevent production delays.
· Implement inventory control systems that minimize waste while meeting production needs.
· Prepare regular reports on plant performance metrics including production output, downtime analysis, labor efficiency, etc., for senior management review.
· Stay updated on advancements in CNC technology; evaluate new tools or software that could enhance productivity or reduce costs.
Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field preferred.
Minimum 5 years of experience in manufacturing management roles with a focus on CNC machining processes.
Proven track record of leading teams in a manufacturing environment; strong leadership skills are essential.
In-depth knowledge of flange manufacturing processes along with relevant industry standards (e.g., ASME).
Proficiency in CAD/CAM software for CNC programming is highly desirable.
Excellent communication skills both written and verbal; ability to interact effectively across all levels of the organization.
Familiarity with safety standards relevant to the gas and oil sector
