Summary

The Marketing Communications Specialist is instrumental in advancing General Formulations’ (GF) communication and branding initiatives. As part of the Corporate Marketing Communications team, this role contributes to creating impactful marketing programs that showcase how GF empowers customers and businesses to excel in the graphics industry. The team drives sales activity by attracting, engaging, and building brand awareness through compelling content and storytelling, strategically delivered across multiple channels throughout the buyer's journey.

 GF is seeking a B2B Marketing Communications Specialist to drive brand awareness and lead generation campaigns, with a primary focus on social media management. Reporting to the Marketing Communications Director, this role will collaborate with a small, geographically dispersed team of marketing specialists. The team’s success is measured by increased ROI on paid media, effective content sharing, and seamless collaboration with Sales, R&D, and Product Management.

The Marketing Communications Specialist will be a proactive self-starter and catalyst for positive change at GF. This individual will take ownership of GF’s social media channels and provide support across various marketing programs. By enhancing brand visibility and increasing market share, the candidate will contribute to maintaining GF’s position as a global leader in the graphics industry and as a U.S.-based manufacturer of pressure-sensitive solutions.

 The ideal candidate will possess strong communication skills, a persuasive yet approachable demeanor, and a collaborative mindset. They will be a dedicated team player committed to delivering results and driving success.

 ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following (Other duties may be assigned as needed):

 Creating, scheduling, and reporting on the company’s social media presence across Instagram, LinkedIn, and Facebook.

  • Coordinating the development of product videos and overseeing the company’s YouTube channel.
  • Developing, scheduling, and analyzing the department’s email marketing campaigns.
  • Managing and maintaining customer contact databases and mailing lists. 
  • Tracking editorial calendars and providing support for media outreach and engagement.
  • Assisting with the ongoing enhancement of the company’s website, including SEO optimization.
  • Supporting product photography and content creation initiatives.
  • Collaborating with Product Management and R&D teams to develop technical tips and resource documents.
  • Organizing and managing content for efficient file sharing across the company globally.
  • Monitoring product and company information across distributor websites to ensure accuracy and consistency.

 EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE:

3-5 years of experience in Marketing Communications, with a proven track record of success. Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Communications, Business, or a related field is required. Experience in the pressure-sensitive vinyl or graphics industry is a strong advantage. Deep expertise in social media, including strategy development, execution, and driving impactful media plans. Demonstrated ability to work effectively with installers, distributors, and sales teams. Familiarity with the commercial graphics industry is highly desirable.

 LANGUAGE SKILLS:

Ability to persuasively and efficiently communicate with customers, staff and management.

 Written and Verbal Communication: Crafting compelling social media captions and engaging content.

·         Proofreading and Editing: Ensuring clarity, accuracy, and professionalism in all communications.

·         Marketing Graphic Design: Creating visually impactful marketing materials.

·         AI Proficiency: Comfortable leveraging AI tools to enhance marketing efforts.

·         Internal Marketing Expertise: Promoting initiatives and fostering alignment within the organization.

·         Collaboration and Teamwork: Building strong relationships and working seamlessly with cross-functional teams.

·         Presentation and Facilitation: Delivering impactful presentations and actively listening to feedback.

·         Technical Competency: Proficient Office 365, SharePoint Online, and Microsoft Teams.

 OTHER SKILLS and ABILITIES:

·         Proficient in MS Office Suite (Excel, Word, Outlook, PowerPoint), Adobe Suite, and/or Canva, as well as conducting effective web research.

·         Skilled in content creation, including video production, photography, and social media management.

 While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to talk or hear.  The employee frequently is required to sit.  Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.

The employee must be able to travel on an airplane and drive an automobile. The employee must be able to work tradeshows which require travel and standing for long hours.
