What are the responsibilities and job description for the Night Manager(Part-time)-Hilton Garden Inn position at General Hotels Corporation?
The Night Manager is in charge of overseeing the hotel's operations from 3pm-11pm. This position is required to guarantee optimum guest relations concurrent with managing and supervising department staff members. The goal of the Night Manager is to create a warm and welcoming atmosphere that encourages guests to return and to recommend our hotel property and brand to others.
Duties include, but are not limited to the following:
- Supervise the daily operations of the Hotel
- Monitor the work of all hotel employees
- Communicating properly to each department with every issue that might arise accurately and timely
- Completing accurate incident/workman comp reports with every issue that might arise accurately and timely
- Assist in any department in need, helping cover during all breaks if needed
- Remaining calm during all stressful situations
- Ensure all health and safety measures and all liquor laws are obeyed, particularly those prohibiting service to minors and intoxicated persons
- Enforcing hotel policies as it pertains to guests
- Ability to inspect guest rooms and assist housekeeping with their needs on a daily basis
- Familiarity with life safety, fire panel operations, location of isolation valves, and basic building maintenance knowledge
- Good city knowledge, familiarity with the Indianapolis area with the ability to give great directions, and recommendations to restaurants and attractions
- Coaching employees to assist in strengthening their skills with guests and coworkers
- Assist night audit staff with late night room calls of guest request or noise complaints
- Communicate to security with ongoing activities in the hotel and/or things they may need to be aware of at the end of the shift
- This position will report directly to the Front Office Manager of the hotel
JOB REQUIREMENTS
- Valid driver’s license and current insurance
- Computer skills is a must
- Must have hotel experience
Accounting experience
- Multi department management knowledge is ideal
- Continuous standing/walking throughout the shift
- Excellent customer service skills is a must
- Strong leadership skills is a must
- Strong conflict resolution and service recovery skills are a must
- Polished, professional appearance and positive attitude
- Strong delegation/prioritizing skills are a must
- Must be available to work any night of the week
- Front desk knowledge and/or able to learn quickly for this position is key
- Strong cash handling and mathematical skills are a must
