PROGRAM: Paid STEM Internship Program Support
LOCATION: On-site at one of the Major Range Test Facility Bases (MRTFB) and Laboratories (See map below for a list of sites)
ABOUT THE PROGRAM: The Test Resource Management Center (TRMC) under the Office of the Under Secretary of Defense for Research and Engineering offers a pilot program for internships in Science, Technology,
Engineering, and Math. This program features work assignments that will help you become familiar with the core principles and concepts related to test and evaluation within the Department of Defense. Applying your knowledge will enhance your skills and gain invaluable experience in real-world test and evaluation environments.
When you participate in the TRMC Internship Program, you'll:
- Acquire practical technical experience by working on projects related to testing and evaluation
- Leverage this internship program as an opportunity to connect with others and explore potential job openings within the Department of Defense.
Our ideal candidates:
- Are interested in a project-based internship focused on the Department of Defense (DoD) testing requirements, resources, and capabilities
- Can excel in a high-performance environment that prioritizes teamwork and collaboration
- Should exhibit strong leadership and communication abilities
- Should demonstrate solid technical and analytical engineering skills, evidenced by excellent academic performance
- Are inspired by the opportunity to tackle complex challenges
- Must be a U.S. citizen with no dual citizenship
- Must be eligible for a Secret Clearance
- Will be available from June 1 to August 16, 2025, for a 10-week internship (examples of internship periods: June 2nd through August 8th or June 9th through August 15th, accommodating staggered start and end dates based on quarter and semester schedules)
To qualify for the intern position, you must be:
- A current full-time enrolled college student (sophomores, juniors, seniors, or graduate students) and be able to provide your current transcript or letter of enrollment
- Have a GPA of 3.0 or higher
- STEM Background (student is majoring in a Science, Technology, Engineering, or Mathematics discipline)
- A U.S. citizen with no dual citizenship
- Eligible for a Secret Clearance
- Available from June 1 to August 16, 2025, for a 10-week internship (examples of internship periods: June 2nd through August 8th or June 9th through August 15th, accommodating staggered start and end dates based on quarter and semester schedules)
CLEARANCE LEVEL:
- Must be able to obtain a DoD SECRET
Your assignment will include working on a Test & Evaluation related project at any of the following sites:
- Government Headquarters Activity
- DoD Major Range Test Facility Base
- DoD Sponsored Lab
