About This Role
We are seeking a skilled Radiological Protection Engineer to provide technical expertise in radiation protection and safety for the design and licensing of nuclear fuel cycle facilities. This role is critical to ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements and the development of robust radiological protection measures for safe and efficient operations.
Responsibilities :
- Develop and implement radiological protection programs and strategies for nuclear facility design and licensing.
- Perform radiological analyses to evaluate potential exposure risks and ensure compliance with NRC, DOE, and international standards (e.g., 10 CFR Part 20, ICRP, and ANSI).
- Support facility licensing activities by preparing radiological safety documentation, including environmental impact statements and safety analysis reports.
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to incorporate radiation protection measures into facility design, including shielding, ventilation, and monitoring systems.
- Conduct dose assessments for workers, the public, and the environment using advanced modeling and analytical tools.
- Evaluate radiological instrumentation and monitoring systems to ensure adequacy and compliance with project requirements.
- Provide technical support during regulatory reviews, inspections, and hearings.
- Stay informed of advancements in radiation protection technologies and best practices, integrating them into project strategies.
- Develop and deliver training programs to personnel on radiological protection principles, standards, and procedures.
