Applicants are expected to possess a valid and appropriate certificate for the vacant position at the time of application as well as all necessary clearances. Additional qualifications and experience will be considered and may be necessary or desirable for individual positions along with a demonstrated competency in writing and communication skills.
Job Selection Expectations:
Applications, resumes, letters of reference, and written samples will be reviewed for required certification; demonstrated related knowledge, skills, and abilities; and ability to communicate effectively. As candidates progress through the selection process, they may be asked to perform additional written exercises, complete panel interviews, and perform a sample lesson related to the subject area.
Essential Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
- Strong knowledge of English language arts content, including literature, writing, grammar, and language conventions across various genres.
- Experience with Read180
- Ability to differentiate instruction to meet the diverse learning needs of students, including those at different proficiency levels.
- Ability to work effectively with fellow teachers, including in a co-teaching environment
- Proven skills in classroom management to create and maintain a positive, structured, and respectful classroom environment.
- Experience with creating and implementing individualized education plans (IEPs) and providing accommodations and modifications for students with disabilities.
- Ability to design engaging, standards-aligned lessons and assessments that support student learning across multiple grade levels.
- Proficiency in using educational technology tools and digital platforms to enhance student engagement and learning.
- Ability to collaborate effectively with colleagues, support staff, and administrators to ensure student success.
- Experience with formative and summative assessments to monitor and improve student progress.
- Strong communication skills to interact clearly and professionally with students, parents, and staff.
- Awareness of and sensitivity to the diverse backgrounds and learning styles of students.
- Skilled at providing scaffolding to support students as they build understanding and independence in their learning.
- Experience in identifying and addressing academic and behavioral challenges faced by struggling students.
- Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships.
- Familiarity with evidence-based practices for helping students with reading and writing difficulties, including students with learning disabilities.
- Knowledge of instructional techniques and strategies to support students with special education needs, including students with ADHD, dyslexia, and other learning challenges.
- Ability to recognize and address the emotional and social needs of students, fostering a positive and inclusive classroom climate.
- Willingness to modify teaching approaches based on student feedback and evolving educational needs.
- Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines efficiently.
- Ability to foster critical thinking skills in students and provide them with opportunities to engage in higher-order thinking.
- Willingness to engage in ongoing professional growth, staying current with educational trends and best practices.
- Ability to provide mentorship and guidance to students, especially those needing additional academic or emotional support.

Full-time employee (beginning 2025-2026 school year)
