Len's Excavating "LEI" is searching for an applicant to join our team as an Earthwork Heavy Equipment Operator. LEI is a family-owned and owner operated business serving the front range since 1968. LEI performs medium and large-scale civil construction projects involving over-lot, foundation, compaction, demolition, final grading, utility and specialty earthwork projects.

- Communicate in English
- Read grade stakes and understand plans—digital and hard copy
- 3-5 years’ experience on heavy equipment as follows:
- Skid Steer,
- Excavator (all types),
- Loader,
- Blade,
- Dozer, and
- Water truck
- 3-5 years’ experience performing tasks as follows:
- Read and interpret grade stakes, site markings, maps, blueprints, and/or drawings for soil movement per project specifications
- Properly set up and utilize grade control devices within tolerance levels
- Mixing and compacting dirt for backfill and compaction testing
- Use and understand all safety requirements for excavation and trenching
- Convey information and receive information from supervisors and co-workers
- Safely operate equipment and maintain active awareness of surroundings to ensure safe distances from potential hazards such as utility lines, other equipment, other workers and/or falling objects
- Perform pre and post equipment checks and report equipment issues to supervisors
- Maintain assigned equipment and perform daily inspections to ensure compliance with operational and safety requirements including but not limited to checking fuel, oil, and/or hydraulic levels
- Perform basic repairs in the event field mechanic is not available
- $28-$34 per hour,
