OVERVIEW
Covington is a high-performance work system plant with approximately 465 employees that makes Cereal and Salty Snacks products. In F’22 the site plans to produce 67.7MM EQC across 8 manufacturing systems. The plant employees are highly skilled technicians that operate under a 4-crew, 12-hr shift rotating schedule. The teams are aligned to technology-based work teams within site Material Handling, Snacks, Puff-Flake Processing & Packaging, Sheeted Twinscrew, and A-B-C Systems Processing & Packaging.
The Snacks Operations Supervisor (internally called a Platform Lead) is overall accountable for the 24-hour results of the platform. They will be responsible for providing business leadership and direction through Zero Loss Culture on a designated site platform within the Snacks business. Owns the development of their team’s technical and leadership capability to build a high performing team. Most of the day will be spent on the floor coaching and removing barriers for their team.
KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES
- Role models Engaging Leader behaviors and holds the direct reports accountable to drive out cultural losses to build a high performing team
- Accountable for the 24-hour results of the platform
- Owns capability development and career coaching of the platform team to identify, measure and drive out losses to deliver targeted line / system results by providing coaching, support, direction and ongoing feedback. Specifically

- Own human safety, food safety, quality results, sanitation execution, including the MSS of the platform area
- Own and coach Daily Direction Setting (DDS) process for the platform and coach DDS for the line.
- Own several daily management systems across the platform and accountable to coach / develop technician system owners who own these systems across the platform shifts in partnership with the Technician Team Leader:
- Human Safety and Environment, Food Safety and Quality, MSS, 5S, Clean-Inspect-Lubrication, Training
- Single point of ownership of the annual and 90-Day improvement plan to deliver the glidepath
- Owns the platform’s capability building plan/strategic training matrix and to coach their Technician Team Leaders to execute the team members’ training plans as per the Technician C- System
- Execute Manager of People Expectations: Support the priorities and development plans for their direct reports
- Performance Management for direct reports and where applicable technicians
- Owns team effectiveness of direct reports and addresses gaps/concerns
- Foster an inclusive environment where people work together to solve problems
- Execute Manager of People Expectations: Support the priorities and development plans for their direct reports
- Put in place appropriate escalation processes depending on current state skill level of each team within the platform to provide Technician Team Leaders the freedom to operate and manage their day-to-day shift performance.
- Partner with Engineering organization on capital and product commercialization
- Partners with FSQ to reduce risks and improve food safety and quality results in own platform (including sanitation)
- Follow personal development plan to:
- Build platform technical skills and where applicable support trainer and qualifier needs via the Technician Career System
- Develop deep understanding of all DMS (CIL, PCL, DH, BE, etc.) to optimize coaching span of influence and loss analysis
- Follow personal development plan to:
- Apply the Reward and Recognition System expectations at the individual and team level
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
- High School Diploma/GED
- Minimum 2 years of related manufacturing leadership experience
- Working knowledge of data systems including MAXIMO, MQIS, INSQL, and GSTEMS
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
- Bachelor’s degree strongly preferred
- 5 years related experience

Salary Range
The salary range for this position is $77900.00 - $117000.00 / Annually. At General Mills we strive for each employee's pay at any point in their career to reflect their experiences performance and skills for their current role. The salary range for this role represents the numerous factors considered in the hiring decisions including, but not limited to, educations, skills, work experience, certifictions, etc. As such, pay for the successful candidate(s) could fall anywhere within the stated range.
