General Motors UAW hourly employment offers a very competitive compensation and benefit package. An annual incentive payout is also available, as qualified.
Relocation and travel expenses will be the responsibility of the applicant.

The Role
GM is undergoing a major transformation, both in how we operate and in how we will influence the future of transportation. General Motors has needs for qualified Experimental Paint Journeypersons.
Primary Responsibilities:

Prepare body for paint process by removing necessary body panel and emblems
- Repair defects/imperfections in panels/bodies with body filler and glazing putty
Mask areas for paint with proper tape/paper
-
Application of primer-surface coatings
-
Proper use of DA sanders, block sanders, and other body preparation tools
-
Follow metal treatment procedures
- Repair paint damaged surfaces
Follow proper standards in paint application of body base coat/clear coat

Adhere to final finesse polish procedures

Work to body specification standards

Participate in design/engineering reviews
- Inspect vehicle in light booth throughout process to guarantee show quality finish
Perform paint mixing applications to proper standards
- Work with numerous substrates including fiberglass, 3D printed parts, carbon fiber and polyethene parts
Additional Job Description
Requirements:
Interested individuals must have six (6) years of documented experience in auto body preparation and painting (notarized documentation required)
Preferred Requirements:
- i-CAR certifications
EPA Area Source Rule Trained
Interested individuals must meet the following minimum qualifications:

At least 18 years of age

Eligible to work in the United States
- Willing to submit to a drug test and background check.
Ability to work 2nd shift
- Ability to work some overtime including daily, weekend, and holidays
