Summary :
GSSC is privately owned and locally operated, seeking an experienced Low Voltage Security Technician based out of Bloomington to join our growing team! Founded in 1946, GSSC remains one of the largest privately held security companies in the Midwest.
The purpose of the Low Voltage Security Technician position is to install, service, and test electronic security systems including burglar and fire alarms, CCTV, access control systems and all related electronic security equipment in residential, commercial and industrial environments.

Low Voltage Security Technician Job Responsibilities :

Installation, service, and / or repair of specified access control, security, and CCTV systemsInstalls and pulls wire as per specificationsInstalls, mounts and wires equipment used in systemsProgramming of systemsTests all equipment after termination is made to ensure performance of systemVerifies signals, tests systems, and troubleshootsEducates and trains customer on system operation and functionalityCommunicates daily with Project Manager on delays, requirements, and general status of jobsEnsures all jobs are executed within each phase’s estimate.Collaborates with Sales, Systems Engineer, and Project Managers on change orders, compliant startup, and complete closeout and turnover of jobs to the ClientManages individual truck stock inventory, materials, tools, and company equipmentReads and interprets wiring diagrams, schematics, and blueprintsRedlines prints, wiring diagrams, schematics, and blueprints for as-builtsComplies fully with the safety programs of GSSC and the ClientHandles on-call duties on a regular basis with additional payAssists with preventative maintenance of customer equipmentPositively represents GSSC to customers with consistent professionalismLeading of projects by self or with a teamLow Voltage Security Technician Minimum Qualifications :
Strong working knowledge of access control, CCTV, security and fire alarm systemsMust have a valid driver's licenseMust not have had any major driving violations in the past 5 years3 years of related experience and / or trainingPower Limited Technician (PLT) license or willingness to achieve PLT license within 6 monthsHold a valid state driver’s license with a clean driving recordAbility to read Blueprints and DiagramsAbility to be on the On-Call rotation throughout the year including a minimum of one holiday per year, one week at a time (number of weeks within a year are dependent on the number of individuals in the rotation) (being on the On-Call schedule could happen within 3 months of employment)Pass a background checkPreferred qualifications include the following :
BICSI certificationNICET certificationComputer / Networking ExperiencePhysical, Mental and Environmental Requirements :
Employee is required to stand, walk, climb, sit and use hands and fingers.Reaching, grasping, and carrying activities also required.Moderate noise level in the work environment.Although most work is performed inside, occasional outside activities are subject to seasonal temperature fluctuations.Ability to complete ladder work, operate scissor and boom lifts, move boxes, and lift, up to 50lbs.Travel
