General Shale Brick, Inc., the nation’s leading brick and masonry materials manufacturer, is seeking a Machine Operator (Kiln Operator) for our manufacturing facility in Augusta, GA. Successful candidates will be equipped to manage departmental operations within a highly automated manufacturing environment.
Responsibilities include:
- Operation of both tunnel kilns and all dryers
- Monitor semi-automatic equipment
- Record information
- Respond to equipment alarms
- Shovel gravel
- Housekeeping
Applicants should possess and demonstrate the following skills:
- Schedule includes three (3) 12 hour shifts and one (1) 6 hour shift
- Great attendance
- Good communication skills
- Mechanical ability
- Ability to read and follow written instructions
- Demonstrate a sense of urgency and attention to detail
- Ability to tolerate extreme hot/cold environments
- Basic math skills (ability to read a tape measure)
- Reliable transportation
