General Shale, the nation’s leading masonry materials manufacturer, is seeking a Marketing Intern for our corporate headquarters in Johnson City, TN. The Marketing Intern will serve as a key business partner for our marketing team as you will be gaining hands-on experience with content creation, editorial content, coordination of branding, and photography.
Position requirements:
- Strong verbal and written communication skills
- Demonstrates project management and organization skills with ability to work without distractions.
- Strong working knowledge of Adobe tools (Photoshop, InDesign, Illustrator)
- Ideally possesses specialized working knowledge in SEO management.
- Ideally possesses experience with website content management.
- Must either be a recent graduate or in the process of completing a bachelor’s or master’s degree in marketing/communications or equivalent field.
- Must be a team player, motivated to learn and enjoys collaborating for a common objective or goal
- Applicants must provide portfolio of work to the marketing department for position consideration.
Responsibilities included but not limited to:
- Internal communications and editorial content writing for WeComm (company intranet), social media, email marketing, etc.
- Website editorial content writing for SEO (search engine optimization) performance
- Website auditing for broken links, outdated page information, page performance issues, etc.
- Review and maintain product data spreadsheets concerning relevant product updates provided to the marketing department.
- Conduct entry-level content management updates across company websites.
- Review and organize brand resources, files, projects photography, and video library.
- Conduct bi-weekly requests with outside sales team to acquire target product resources (new/popular/trending products), with a specific focus on project photography.
- Review customer social media activity and identify opportunities to obtain project photography through the consent process.
- Coordinate and manage asset requests incoming to the marketing department, including logo distribution, literature requests, stationary needs, event marketing materials, and brand merchandising inquiries.
- Update plant profile literature pieces to reflect the current website product offerings using the template provided by marketing to maintain consistency.
