The Manufacturing Engineer is the champion for new product launches of individual parts. The Manufacturing Engineer is responsible to deliver tools, check fixtures, patterns, processes and prints that are capable to produce the specified part in advance of production job start dates.

Organizational Relationships and Authority
This position reports directly to the Engineering Manager. The Manufacturing Engineer will work closely with team members to ensure GSM has a process for every part. This position will collaborate to solve problems and eliminate waste. This team member is expected to halt and correct operations should they encounter an unsafe/incorrect process is occurring.
Additional Responsibilities Include:
- Releases accurate part routings (process, bills of material, set-up instructions, rates, packaging) that meet customer specifications, are optimized and on time for customer demand.
- Conducts time studies to validate or improve processes
- Leads improvement activities
- Participates in budgeting activities to suggest new equipment/technology
- Knows equipment and software capabilities to inform estimating processes

Qualifications and Competencies

- Microsoft Office suite
- ERP System
- Laptop, tablet and/or desktop computer
- Engineering software and programs (Solidworks preferred)
- Original Equipment Manufacturer (OEM) software

Education
- Bachelors of Science in Engineering Technology or equivalent
- Mechanical Engineering degree preferred
- Solid Works Essentials or equivalent (preferred)
