Columbus area construction mechanical contractor is seeking a Construction Project Manager (PM) to join our team and assist in taking care of our growing list of construction projects. We are a well respected company with 35 plus years of service in the Columbus and surrounding areas assisting customers with all their HVAC and mechanical construction needs. As a project manager with our team, your primary responsibility will be to manage construction projects to finish on time and on budget while delivering a quality product. You’ll need to collaborate and work with other construction trades, architects, engineers, and owners to coordinate and install the work designed to ensure the owner has a fully functional building as intended and help problem solve unforeseen issues to deliver a successful project to the owners. To help accomplish these tasks, you will work directly with the CEO and VP of Construction.
This position is for the highly motivated self-starter who wants to be part of a growing department with a focus on quality long-term relationships with their customers and achieve long term goals.
Responsibilities (position may include other duties):
- Plan and coordinate the project with GTC support staff and customers
- Reviewing and following construction plans, specifications, and contract documents
- Coordinate all equipment, material, and subcontractor purchases and deliveries for the project
- Create and manage all correspondences, front end & closeout documents, submittals, PO’s, and job costs by keeping accurate and up to date paperwork
- Track productivity of the manpower, inspect work for compliance and quality and take corrective action quickly to eliminate extra costs and document accordingly
- Develop, review, and maintain project schedules and schedule of values
- Identify and track all costs, identify and manage potential changes in scope of work
- Help project field labor and materials for construction projects
- Responsible for developing and maintaining contract billings
- Develop and maintain quality relationships will Owners, suppliers, and subcontractors
- Coordinate all equipment startups for projects with GTC service manager or manufacturer
- Coordinate all warranty requests
- Follow up with customers to ensure satisfaction and look for feedback on ways to improve our delivery of the project
- Perform construction site visits and attend regular project meetings for construction projects
- Cost containment ideas with performance goals
Qualifications:
- High School Diploma/Mechanical Trade Experience
- Associates or BS degree in construction management, architecture, engineering, or related field a plus
- 3-5 years of mechanical construction experience a plus
- Understanding how to read, review, and implement construction plans, specifications, and contract documents
- Experience in Microsoft Office software
- Experience in OAKs CI web-based software
- Knowledge of AutoCAD and scheduling software
- Experience in Autodesk Construction Cloud (ACC)
- Highly self-motivated with great work ethics
- Competent in conflict and crisis management
- Have great organizational skills
- Ability to multitask and solve issues
- Outstanding relationship building skills
- Great communication skills, verbal and written
