CNC Programmer/Machinist

Overview

A leading product design and mold-making company is seeking skilled CNC Machinists with CAD/CAM experience for full-time positions manufacturing custom injection mold components. This role involves high-quality, high-precision work in a modern, high-tech, temperature-controlled plant. The ideal candidate will have experience machining hardened tool steel and stainless steel, a strong understanding of CNC machining processes, and the ability to develop efficient manufacturing processes. Must be fluent in English. Competitive compensation is based on experience and proficiency in meeting job responsibilities.

Job Duties & Responsibilities

• Receive CAD data, material specifications, and part requirements.
• Develop efficient manufacturing processes.
• Set up and operate CNC vertical machining centers (VMCs).
• Develop cutter paths using CAM software.
• Load, run, and optimize NC programs for maximum efficiency.
• Inspect parts to ensure adherence to strict tolerances and quality standards.
• Perform routine maintenance on CNC machinery to ensure optimal performance.
• Maintain ISO documentation and follow quality control protocols.

Required Skills & Qualifications

• Proficiency in CNC programming and operation.
• Experience with CAD/CAM software.
• Strong understanding of machining processes and techniques.
• Knowledge of machining hardened tool steel and stainless steel.
• Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and blueprints.
• Strong mathematical skills, including algebra, trigonometry, and geometry.
• Experience using measuring instruments such as micrometers, gauge blocks, and test indicators.
• Familiarity with G & M Code programming.
• Knowledge of cutting tools, specialty carbide, and precision CNC tool holders.
• Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
