What youll be doing.
Job Summary:
The Senior Accountant reports to the Assistant Controller and their main responsibility is to perform accounting procedures as assigned. The Senior Accountant must have full knowledge of all responsibilities mentioned below; however, their supervisor will assign specific tasks.
Principal Duties and Responsibilities:

Prepare journal entries, assist with cash and prepare general ledger reconciliations, for insurance and reinsurance business.

Assist with preparing statutory financials and associated filings in a timely manner.

Contact general agents and third-party administrators to obtain, verify and reconcile the data for assigned programs.

Perform ceded calculations based on reinsurance contracts for assigned programs and prepare schedule F.

Review and analyze loss data and prepare schedule P statement, ensuring full alignment and reconciliation with Actuarial and the FP&A function.

Assist with audit requests and ensure compliance with internal controls guidelines.

Special projects as needed.

Communicate with internal and external customers regarding inquiries and audit issues.

Responsible for other operational issues and processes that impact Finance

Enter financial data into underwriting and claims platforms.

Responsible for operational improvements to enhance control and data integrity.

Coordinate, develop and update written policies and procedures over the financial reporting process.
Required / Desired Knowledge, Experiences and Skills:

Minimum of five years of related financial experience.

Excellent interpersonal skills to interact positively with clients and professional staff.

Problem solving skills.
-
Knowledge of SAP.

Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
-
Excellent computer skills, including MS Office Excel, Word, and Outlook.
Preferred:
-
Experience within the insurance industry.
Education/Certifications:
-
High School Diploma or Equivalent (GED) required.

Bachelors degree in Accounting or Finance required
Where youll be doing it.
This is a hybrid role based out of our Pembroke Pines, FL office. As a hybrid role, you will be working onsite 2-3 days a week and working from home 2-3 days a week.
When youll be doing it.
While there is some flexibility in the hours, this position will be Monday-Friday during regular business hours (approximately 8:00am-5:00pm). Occasional overtime may be required according to business need.
