Position Overview
As a Certified Peer Recovery Specialist at Generation Hope, you will play a critical role in supporting individuals in their recovery journey. Using your lived experience and professional training, you will provide guidance, mentorship, and advocacy while promoting a recovery-oriented approach to care.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide peer recovery support to assist individuals in maintaining recovery.
- Collaborate with individuals to develop personalized recovery plans and set meaningful goals.
- Advocate for the rights, needs, and preferences of those you support.
- Utilize motivational interviewing and strength-based approaches to promote self-empowerment.
- Assist individuals in navigating mental health and addiction recovery systems.
- Connect clients with community resources, including treatment programs, housing support, food assistance, and employment services.
- Maintain confidentiality and uphold ethical standards in accordance with Generation Hope’s Code of Ethics.
- Document client interactions, progress, and services provided in Procentive within 24 hours.
- Schedule and maintain client appointments using Procentive and other scheduling tools.
- Attend and participate in weekly supervision meetings and monthly Licensed Alcohol and Drug Counselor (LADC) supervision sessions.
- Maintain ongoing relationships with recovery community organizations (RCOs), treatment centers, detox facilities, and other community partners.
- Demonstrate and model pro-social behaviors that align with Generation Hope’s values and ethical standards.
- Perform basic administrative tasks, including email correspondence, documentation management, and report submissions.
Qualifications
- Must be a Certified Peer Recovery Specialist (CPRS) through the Minnesota Certification Board.
- Lived experience with addiction recovery and a strong commitment to supporting others on their recovery journey.
- Strong interpersonal, communication, and advocacy skills.
- Ability to maintain professional boundaries while providing compassionate peer support.
- Experience with electronic health record (EHR) systems, such as Procentive, is a plus.
