Generations at Rock Island has an Immediate Opening for a Full time Chef with experience in a healthcare setting. Please note, this is NOT a line cook or prep cook position. You must be certified in Culinary Arts.

Responsibilities of the Chef:
- Monitor and evaluate the food and beverage service for residents, employees and visitors at our facility
- Ensure quality of food preparation and service, cleanliness and sanitation of production and service areas, equipment and employee appearance
- Prepare for special occasions
- Help develop portion specifications in accordance with consumer/residents taste, nutritional needs, product specifications, ease of preparation, and budgetary constraints
- Participate in other menu planning activities to include the determinations of purchasing specifications, products and recipe testing, and menu development
- Prepare operational reports and analyses and make appropriate recommendations
- Collaborate with Dietary Consultant, RD Consultants and report to VP of Dietary Services
- Work with the Dietary Manager to manage kitchen and Bistro

Requirements
For the Chef:
- Experience as a Chef in a healthcare setting required
- Sanitation Certification
- Must be Certified in Culinary Arts
- Strong administrative, managerial and interpersonal skills
- Must be able to work some weekends
- Maintain confidentiality of residents’ information in compliance with HIPAA
- Must have compassion, tolerance and understanding of older adults
- Must be willing to undergo a complete background check, including fingerprinting to be deemed eligible for hire
