Job Summary
We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Medical Assistant to join our healthcare team. The ideal candidate will play a crucial role in providing high-quality patient care within a fast-paced medical environment, including a primary care, urgent care and addiction medicine This position requires a blend of clinical and administrative skills, ensuring that patients receive the best possible service while supporting the medical staff in delivering effective medical outcomes.
Responsibilities
- Administer medications as directed by healthcare providers, ensuring adherence to safety protocols.
- Assist in patient examinations and procedures, providing support to physicians and nursing staff.
- Maintain accurate patient records and documentation, utilizing medical terminology effectively.
- Assist with lab procedures by collecting and analyzing blood and urine samples, and labeling lab samples in accordance with physician instructions.
- Assist in the processing of prescriptions, referrals and authorizations as needed.
- Provide medical administrative support, including scheduling appointments and managing patient flow.
- Demonstrate knowledge of anatomy to assist in patient assessments and care.
- Deliver exceptional patient service by addressing inquiries and concerns with professionalism and empathy.
Requirements
- Proven experience as a Medical Assistant or similar role within a healthcare setting.
- Strong understanding of medical terminology and anatomy knowledge is essential.
- Familiarity with medication administration protocols and emergency medicine practices.
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required; additional certifications in relevant areas are a plus.
- Experience working in a clinical environment is highly desirable but not mandatory.
- Excellent communication skills with the ability to provide outstanding patient service.
- Proficiency in using electronic health record (EHR) systems is preferred.
